Let’s talk
I wrote a book about how neuroscience is rewriting the story of parenthood. But stories are living things, passed between us. They don’t really change unless the people telling them do. Between Us is a place to explore the stories we tell ourselves and each other about who we are—as parents and as people at large—and to dig into the science that challenges and affirms those stories.
Between Us is a newsletter exploring the parental brain, sex and gender, the culture of caregiving, public policy, health care and the nature of storytelling. I regularly publish deeply reported essays on topics I’ve been chewing on. These posts are always free to read and share. Paid subscribers have access to all extra posts, including reading recommendations and Strewn Wonder dispatches from me and Yoon S. Byun. All subscribers get the first chapter of Mother Brain: How Neuroscience Is Rewriting the Story of Parenthood sent to their inbox. Founding members receive a signed copy sent to them or to a friend.
